About Us

Chesapeake Tours and Promotions was founded by Priscilla Timken, a seventh generation native of Maryland’s Eastern Shore. An explorer of back roads and hideaway eateries, quaint small towns and ocean-side resorts, museums and outdoor adventures, wineries and historic sites, Priscilla knows well all that is Chesapeake. Priscilla’s passion for exploring her own backyard led her to become a volunteer tour guide for the International Visitors Information Center while living in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She served as a cultural liaison for the Smithsonian’s American Folklife Festival. She became a certified travel agent and spent several years planning post-convention tours throughout the world for National Trade Associations and retired military officers.

After returning to Maryland’s Eastern Shore more than 25 years ago, Priscilla continued her travels throughout the region. Often you would find her taking adults and young students day-tripping so they could better understand and experience the wonders of the Chesapeake in their own backyard. All the unspoiled uniqueness of the region expressed in its deep rooted history and culture inspire the design of each custom tour.
